Overview

Honigman was formed as a corporate law firm nearly 75 years ago. The firm was built on a work ethic commensurate with the times and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Most of the firm’s clients at that time were based in and around Detroit, Michigan, the automobile capital of the world.

Today, we enjoy a very diverse corporate group encompassing the wide array of skillsets necessary to help enterprises and their constituents thrive. The geographic diversity of our client base has likewise grown to become national and international. From acquisitions and securities to tax and employee benefits, and all other disciplines in between, two constants have remained, namely our dedication to hard work and our unwavering commitment to excellence. These principles drive us.

The following exemplify what “commitment to excellence” means to us:

  • We will treat our clients as valued business partners and we will be expected to learn their business, objectives and perceived risks.
  • We will strive to be problem solvers and to find actionable solutions, not merely provide sterile academic advice.
  • We will tailor agreements to fit the deal, not tailor the deal to fit past agreements.
  • Our communications will be timely and concise.
  • We will not over lawyer transactions and will ensure that project teams offer direct partner access and accountability at all times.
  • We will be innovative and invest in technology to drive efficiency in our work.
  • We will be ever mindful that we are representatives of our clients and we will act with appropriate respect when dealing with third parties on their behalf.
  • We will strive to deliver legal services at a superior value.
