Overview
Alexander Burridge is an associate in Honigman’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group. Alexander focuses his practice on advising clients on a wide variety of employee benefits, ERISA, and executive compensation matters.
Alexander regularly assists private companies with the employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, and other corporate transactions. He supports benefits-related due diligence, advises on the treatment of benefit plans and compensation arrangements in transactional documents, and assists clients in navigating post-closing integration and transition issues. In this work, Alexander takes a client-focused approach, aligning legal advice with each client’s business objectives and financial considerations.
In connection with corporate transactions, Alexander also advises on change-in-control and parachute payment matters, including issues arising under Sections 280G and 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. He assists clients in evaluating the financial and tax implications of compensation-related decisions and provides practical guidance designed to manage risk while supporting deal economics.
In addition to transactional matters, Alexander assists clients with the design, implementation, and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, and equity-based compensation arrangements. He advises on compliance matters under ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and the Affordable Care Act, including plan documentation, government filings, correction issues, and benefits-related inquiries with government agencies.
