  • "As a federal law clerk, I gained invaluable insight into the procedures governing each stage of litigation and how they applied to a wide array of legal issues across dozens of different areas of law.  That insight has enabled me to think creatively and strategically throughout the pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and judgment in complex commercial cases at Honigman."

    Nicholas Burandt

  • "Clerking trained me to examine every angle of a legal problem and sharpened my written and oral advocacy skills. At Honigman, I was trusted to put those skills into practice as soon as I joined the firm as a young associate."

    Shannon Duggan
    Associate
  • "During the interview process, it became clear that Honigman had top-tier clients and complex work like other national firms, but it was only after starting that I realized how unique Honigman was.  Junior attorneys are given senior-level opportunities and are encouraged to take ownership and lead cases early on.  And most importantly, the people at Honigman were welcoming, kind, and really set the firm apart from its competitors.”

    Shirin Goyal
    Partner
  • “Honigman has unwavering interest in helping each of its attorneys grow into superior lawyers in each of their individual practice areas. • "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to complete a judicial clerkship. Clerking allowed me to see a variety of complex legal issues – ones that I had never considered. Because of that, I feel more confident to tackle new issues in my practice. My clerkship also gave me a look behind the scenes. I am more aware of effective arguments and conduct. I am positive that my clerkship has made me a better attorney."

    Essence Patterson
    Associate
  • "As a law clerk, I developed both technical skills in legal analysis and writing, and a practical understanding of how the court system functions.  This has proven critical in advising clients and helping them achieve their goals in litigation."

    Keith Underkoffler
    Associate
  • "Honigman has allowed me to leverage my clerkship experience at every turn—in courts, with clients, and by offering the opportunity to lead strategy on high-stakes matters in federal courts around the country. There is no question this has accelerated my growth, increased my confidence, and allowed me to stretch in areas typically reserved for far more senior litigators."
