Overview
Mike Duggan serves as a strategic advisor to the firm, drawing on his extensive experience and deep understanding of Michigan’s government and legislative landscape. He advises on matters involving alternative dispute resolution, internal and external investigations, infrastructure and economic development initiatives, public-sector approvals, and complex political and community relations issues.
Prior to joining Honigman, Mike served as the 75th mayor of the City of Detroit, completing three four-year terms. A Detroit native, he has spent his career addressing issues affecting the city, including crime, blight, transportation, health care, and access to jobs.
Before serving as mayor, Mike was the CEO of Detroit Medical Center where he led the organization through a financial turnaround and negotiated an agreement that supported significant new construction investment. He also previously served as the Wayne County Prosecutor, and before that, as Deputy County Executive.
