Joshua Zeman

Josh is a trusted advisor and advocate for clients in high stakes disputes. Josh has successfully represented clients in a variety of complex commercial matters, including those involving the automotive supply chain, closely held business disputes, financial services, regulatory complaints, and employment disputes. Drawing on his experience in the judiciary, Josh counsels clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute, including assisting in prelitigation resolutions and trying cases in state and federal courts both in Michigan and across the country.

Separate from his litigation practice, Josh provides commercial counseling to his clients, including drafting contracts and collaborating on business transactions.

• Successfully represented a Tier I automotive supplier in multiple high-stakes supply-chain disputes, including defeating motions to dismiss and for injunctive relief.*
• Defeated a motion to dismiss and obtained a favorable settlement for client in automotive supply chain dispute.*
• Obtained summary judgment for a Tier I automotive supplier in a product liability litigation and successfully resolved a related commercial claim.*
• Obtained judgment on the pleadings against national insurance company arising out of a contractual dispute with an employer-sponsored healthcare plan.*
• Obtained dismissal of complex regulatory complaint against national energy company.*
• Defeated motions to dismiss in derivative shareholder litigation.*
• Serve as outside counsel and advisor to venture capital fund and portfolio companies.
• Successfully represented multiple pro bono clients, including obtaining summary judgment on a claim brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, obtaining a writ of habeas corpus, and a successful ruling in the Board of Immigration Appeals.*
