Overview

Brian Braum brings practical insight and collaborative energy to Honigman’s finance practice, where he serves as a senior associate in the Corporate Finance Practice Group.

He is known for creative problem solving, a writing style that translates business goals into effective legal language, and a pragmatic approach to deal-making that balances client advocacy with constructive negotiation. His ability to work across the table helps drive transactions forward while prioritizing his clients’ interests.

His practice focuses on finance, banking, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and general corporate services, with experience in asset-based lending and other commercial financing structures. He advises both borrowers and lenders across the full lifecycle of credit facilities — from structuring and negotiation through documentation, post-closing administration, and add-on acquisition joinders. He regularly creates credit facilities with deal terms that are accepted in the market and aligned with his clients’ strategic goals.

His clients include private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, regional banks, and middle-market enterprises. His career began by mainly representing financial institutions, giving him a nuanced understanding of lender-side priorities and processes.

In addition to his client work, he contributes to associate development through internal training sessions and mentorship.
