Overview
Grace Trueman focuses her practice on matters concerning estate and tax planning, art law, trust and estate administration, and nonprofit organizations. She represents high net-worth families and individuals, artists and art collectors, family offices, corporate and individual fiduciaries, as well as nonprofit organizations. Grace is a contributing presenter and author for the Institute of Continuing Education in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has had the privilege of holding leadership roles in and volunteering for various community organizations.
- Prepares specialized estate plans to achieve client goals, including sophisticated tax planning, protection for minor children, family business succession planning, and charitable giving
- Provides sophisticated planning and management counsel to single and multi-family offices
- Counsels on various aspects of art law, including special issues relating to estate planning, charitable donations, sales, consignment, collection management, insurance, appraisal and valuation issues, and purchases
- Counsels on creation and management of private foundations and public charities for domestic and foreign charitable activities
- Advises public charities and private foundations about securing and retaining tax-exempt status, including compliance issues, donations/grants, regulatory issues, and general governance and internal policies
- Represents clients in tax controversies and examinations relating to federal estate and gift tax
