Overview

Alan Schwartz is a distinguished corporate attorney who has been an integral part of the firm’s leadership for more than 30 years and instrumental in its growth as a leading business law firm serving clients locally, nationally, and internationally. Alan served as the firm’s Chairman and CEO, as well as three terms as Vice Chair.

In addition to decades of corporate practice and firm leadership, Alan has been active in the community and has held leadership roles in many nonprofit and business organizations, including as Chairman of Karmanos Cancer Institute, Vice Chair of Legacy DMC, Board Member of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, Invest Detroit and the Jewish Federation of Detroit, President of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and Chairman of Clover Hill Park Cemetery.

In his practice, Alan advises family-owned businesses on general business matters and succession planning. He has served as general counsel to The Detroit Institute of Arts since 1983 and also serves as general counsel to a number of the area's most prominent family businesses and other private companies.
