Honigman Launches Gaming and Hospitality Practice Group
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP has announced the formation of a new Gaming and Hospitality Practice Group, an interdisciplinary group of high-profile industry attorneys which will offer sophisticated legal services to clients in the gaming and hospitality industries.
Alan S. Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, said, "As the needs of our clients evolve, so do we. To meet the needs of the dynamic and growing gaming and hospitality industries, in Michigan and beyond, Honigman has assembled a team of superior lawyers with broad industry experience."
The Gaming and Hospitality Practice Group is comprised of attorneys who have served in high-profile government regulatory positions and who have helped author, implement, administer and enforce many of the state and federal laws that currently govern the industry.
The Group is chaired by John Pirich, a nationally-recognized authority in liquor and gaming regulatory compliance. The Group also includes Eric Eggan, the former Assistant in Charge of the Michigan Department of the Attorney General's Alcohol and Gaming Enforcement Division and chief legal counsel to the Michigan Gaming Control Board and Michigan Liquor Control Commission; and Nelson Westrin, the former Vice Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, former First Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, and former Michigan Racing Commissioner.
The Gaming and Hospitality Group is comprised of attorneys from the firm's Regulatory, Real Estate, Corporate, Environmental, Intellectual Property, Tax, Labor and Employment, Immigration and Litigation departments and practice groups. These attorneys were chosen for their ability to advise and represent various participants in the industry, from tribal governments to investors, developers, owners, operators, manufacturers, suppliers and vendors of goods and services.
Founded in 1948, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is based in Detroit with offices in Lansing and Oakland County. The Firm represents more than 15,000 clients regionally, nationally and internationally.
