Overview
Scott Foess focuses his practice on counseling clients on tax exposures and planning opportunities in the areas of state income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and unclaimed property. He provides clients with the insight and expertise necessary to identify and obtain economic incentives at the federal, state, and local levels, including investment benefits from Opportunity Zones. Scott has successfully helped clients identify frequently missed opportunities to generate cash flow and operational results by reducing and offsetting expenses through the use of incentives programs based in complex regulatory regimes; such as strategic investment, headcount growth, research and development, employee training, and sustainability.
Scott assists clients across a broad range of industries, from consumer products to start-up electric/autonomous vehicle, on tax implications including nexus across tax types and identification of alternative funding sources (i.e. traditional sources, US Department of Energy, etc.).
