Overview
Scott Foess concentrates his practice on various aspects of state and local taxation, including corporate and individual income tax, sales and use tax, insurance premium tax, employment tax and unclaimed property across the country. He advises clients in mergers and acquisitions, income tax planning, exposure analysis and state tax audits. Scott also represents clients in connection with corporate and partnership taxation, including the taxation of financial products.
In addition, Scott provides advice regarding the preparation federal tax and information returns that result from captive insurance arrangements. He also provides advice regarding state insurance premiums and other taxes. Scott represents clients in connection with state tax examinations of captive insurance transactions and assists clients in assessing their financial reporting obligations that are in accordance with accounting requirements and conform with their tax positions.
