Overview
Jenn Muse is an employment law attorney who provides proactive counsel to businesses on practical strategies, steps, and policies to address human resources and relations concerns. She focuses her practice on employment counseling and strategic acquisitions. She also serves as counsel for businesses on employment litigation matters, from wage and hour class and collective action lawsuits, to single-plaintiff employment discrimination claims.
- Drafts practical work rules, policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to support employers specific business goals
- Negotiates employment contracts and severance agreements, including noncompete agreements
- Defends charges brought against employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state civil rights departments
- Advises employers with federal contract compliance, including developing affirmative action programs and meeting reporting requirements
- Represents employers in various stages of state and federal litigation, including responding to complaints, drafting discovery requests and responses, and crafting dispositive motions
- Counsels start-ups, small businesses, and emerging companies on initial human resources matters and contracts
- Provides practical, preventive and forward-thinking counsel while keeping each client’s end goals in mind

- Defended and achieved favorable settlement of a statewide collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act involving several hundred class members
- Achieved dismissal of litigation into arbitration
- Counseled restaurants through the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association Legal Center

- Served as a judicial extern for the Honorable David W. McKeague of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit while attending law school
