Honigman elects ten new partners
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) is pleased to announce that ten attorneys were named partners in the firm effective January 1, 2009. Honigman’s new partners are:
Thomas J. Appledorn is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department. Mr. Appledorn is experienced in providing technical and legal counsel to start-up companies and industry leaders ensuring each client's intellectual property investments are properly protected. He received a J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law School and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Jennifer L. Benedict is a partner in the firm’s Health Care Department. Ms. Benedict, who was recognized in 2008 as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers & Rising Stars, represents hospitals and other health care providers and is experienced in drafting and negotiating asset purchase agreements, leases, educational affiliation and services contracts. She received a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, and a B.A. in History and Latin American Studies from Oberlin College.
Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr. is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Gorgon is experienced in complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on securities cases, including the representation of brokerage firms in customer disputes before regulatory organizations. He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law, cum laude, and a B.A., with distinction, in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
Daniel J. Henry is a partner in the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department. Mr. Henry, who was recognized in 2008 as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers & Rising Stars, is a registered patent attorney and an inventor who holds a number of patents in the medical device field. He received a J.D. from John Marshall Law School and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
Michael P. Hindelang is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department and Co-Chair of Honigman's e-Discovery Practice Group. Mr. Hindelang was recognized in 2008 as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers & Rising Stars. He received a J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law, a M.B.A. from Wayne State University, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Melissa A. Langridge is a partner in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department. Ms. Langridge works on acquisitions and divestitures, debt and equity financing and general corporate matters, and has been involved in borrower side financing in connection with private equity group acquisitions. She received a J.D. from the University of Michigan School of Law and a B.A. in Law and Society/Anthropology from Michigan State University.
A’Jené M. Maxwell is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department. Mr. Maxwell is experienced in commercial, office and residential real estate transactions, and in various conveyance, leasing and lending matters. He received a J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law, cum laude, and a B.B.A. in Finance from Grand Valley State University.
Justin R. Peruski is a partner in the firm’s Insurance Department. Mr. Peruski provides corporate, transactional and regulatory legal services to the insurance, health care, information technology, sports and entertainment, and automotive industries. He works with clients on the formation and ongoing operations of captive insurance companies, self-insurance programs and risk retention and risk purchasing groups. He received a J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law and a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Humanities from Michigan State University.
Jill M. Przybylski is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department. Ms. Przybylski, who was recognized in 2008 as a “Rising Star” by Michigan Super Lawyers & Rising Stars, is experienced in complex commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes, contract actions, business torts, environmental class action defense, and construction litigation. She received a J.D. from Boston University and a B.A. in Political Science/Pre-Law from Michigan State University, Phi Beta Kappa.
Kenneth J. Wessel is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department. Mr. Wessel works on commercial real estate and financing transactions involving commercial and residential condominium projects, shopping centers, office buildings, assisted care facilities, restaurants, apartment complexes and mixed-use developments. Mr. Wessel received a J.D. from Wayne State University School of Law, cum laude, and a B.B.A. from Walsh College, magna cum laude.
