Jennifer Benedict is a skilled healthcare attorney with significant experience representing a variety of healthcare providers, including hospice providers, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers. She has extensive experience in healthcare M&A transactions and all phases of Medicare provider enrollment from initial enrollment to CHOWs to revalidations. Jennifer regularly advises providers on contractual arrangements as well as fraud and abuse issues. 

  • Represents healthcare providers in connection with affiliations, mergers, and acquisitions
  • Guides healthcare facilities with regard to state licensure, accreditation, and Medicare and Medicaid enrollment
  • Advises healthcare providers regarding compliance matters, including the Stark Law, Anti-kickback Statute and HIPAA
  • Completes Medicare enrollment 855 applications on behalf of hospitals and other healthcare providers in connection with initial enrollments, acquisitions, mergers, changes of information, and revalidations
  • Counsels hospitals in connection with developing policies and medical staff bylaws and rules and regulations
  • Drafts and negotiates asset purchase agreements, leases, educational affiliation agreements, physician employment, and other healthcare-related agreements

  • Assisted in acquisition of PACE Program by health system
  • Assisted in acquisition of laboratory by private equity investor
  • Represented cancer hospital in sale of its interest in a freestanding cancer center joint venture
  • Represented behavioral health provider in affiliation with regional healthcare system
  • Assisted in acquisition of physician staffing company by private equity investor
  • Represented pharmacy in formation of a joint venture with a software company and healthcare provider
  • Assisted Catholic health care system in purchase of three Catholic hospitals
  • Assisted in acquisition of interest in gastroenterology ASC by hospital
