Honigman Partners Kristen Boike and Marcia Owens named to Crain's Chicago Business 2022 Notable Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law

Kristen Boike and Marcia Owens, Partners in the Honigman Chicago Office, have been named to Crain's Chicago Business 2022 Gen X Leaders in Accounting, Consulting and Law. 

Kristen Boike was named office managing partner at Honigman in April, the first woman to serve in the role at the firm. She manages a team of 70 people, is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and leads recruiting efforts for the office. She also continues her real estate transaction legal practice, including recently advising a major defense contractor in the Washington, D.C., area on the purchase and development of its new headquarters. Kristen has worked with several pro bono clients, including organizations such as Women in Need Growing Stronger (WINGS) and the Chicago Urban League. She is also a volunteer coach through Chicago Public Schools and the American Youth Soccer Organization and is on the board of the Near North Unity Program. 

Marcia Owens was recently named co-chair of Honigman’s Retail Group in addition to her roles as equity partner and member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for Business Development. She works to promote and advance women in law and is national programming chair for the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law. She is also leading the efforts to develop a four-part series on the Dobbs decision and how it has impacted American abortion rights. Marcia has been an equity partner at every firm where she’s worked, and she regularly seeks out chances to mentor young attorneys. She is on the national board of directors of the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law.

Candidates for this award were drawn from nomination materials. The list features only individuals for whom nominations were submitted and accepted after a review by Crain's Chicago Business editorial team. To qualify for the list,  nominees must be senior leaders in their firm, based in the Chicago area and  be part of Generation X, born between 1965 and 1980. They must have shown the ability or power to effect change at their firm, serve as a role model in their company and have assumed a leadership position outside their organization.
