Honigman Elects Eleven Attorneys to Partner

Honigman LLP is pleased to announce that the firm’s board of directors has elected the following eleven attorneys as partners, effective January 1, 2022.

Ka’Nea K. Brooks (Ann Arbor) is a member of the Intellectual Property department. She focuses her practice on trademark, copyright, trade dress, and trade secret matters throughout the United States. Brooks earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law.

Elias de Wit (Bloomfield Hills) is a member of the Real Estate department. He focuses his practice on the acquisition, development, financing and disposition of real estate assets. He earned his J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law.  

Christopher R. DeLucenay (Grand Rapids) is a member of the Intellectual Property department. He focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution in electrical, software, and hardware system fields. DeLucenay earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Li Gao (Lansing) is a member of the Intellectual Property department. She focuses her practice on preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to pharmaceutical, life science, chemical, material science, and medical device related technologies.  Gao earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law. 

Mitchel E. Garnett (Chicago) is a member of the Corporate department. He advises clients on corporate matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and general corporate counseling and representation. Garnett earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.   

John Hertel (Kalamazoo) is a member of the Corporate department. He focuses his practice on finance and mergers and acquisitions. Hertel earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School. 

Mingyu Kim (Detroit) is a member of the Corporate department. He focuses his practice on corporate transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions, and general corporate matters.  Kim earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.   

David J. Krueger (Detroit) is a member of the Corporate department. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions, and general corporate matters. Krueger earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Daniel P. Mooney (Bloomfield Hills) is a member of the Real Estate department. He focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions. He represents clients in the areas of multifamily housing, retail, commercial development, and office and retail leasing. Mooney earned his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

Patrick L. Rawsthorne (Grand Rapids) is a member of the Litigation department. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters. Rawsthorne earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.

Amy H. Smith (Detroit) is a member of the Corporate department. She focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, securities transactions, and general corporate matters. Smith earned her J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School.
