J. Patrick Lennon joins Honigman’s Kalamazoo office
J. Patrick Lennon has joined Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) as a Partner in its Real Estate Department. His office will be located in Kalamazoo.
Lennon focuses his practice on real estate transactions, financing, leasing, affordable housing, government incentives, construction, land use, development and brokerage. He represents the interests of large corporations, real estate developers, builders and investors throughout Michigan and Florida.
His experience brings additional depth to a Honigman practice area that is already recognized as the best in the State. For six consecutive years, Honigman’s Real Estate Department was the only real estate practice in the State of Michigan to receive a number one ranking by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Honigman’s other Kalamazoo attorneys concentrate their practices on life sciences, intellectual property and technology, venture capital, corporate law, litigation, community banking, and labor and employment.
His professional involvement includes serving as counsel for the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors and general counsel for SWMRIC (Southwestern Michigan Regional Information Center). These organizations consist of more than 6,000 real estate agents throughout the State of Michigan. Lennon is a member of the Comm-PAC Steering Committee, a political action committee that promotes pro-business initiatives. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Michigan Bar Association’s Real Property Section, the Florida Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association’s Estates, Trusts and Real Property Section.
He was recognized in Best Lawyers in America in 2010 and in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as an “Up and Coming” attorney in 2006 and 2007. Lennon was also named one of the top business leaders under 40 by Business Review West Michigan in 2005.
Lennon earned a J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a B.A., with honors, in Business from Michigan State University.
Prior to joining Honigman, Lennon was a Principal at Miller Canfield.
