David Parsigian Joins Firm as Partner and Will Lead the Ann Arbor Office

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP today announced that the firm will open an office in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the first quarter of 2007.  The office will provide a full range of business-related legal services and will be fully integrated with Honigman's other offices located in Detroit, Bloomfield Hills and Lansing, Michigan.  David N. Parsigian has joined the firm as Partner in the Corporate and Securities Department, effective Jan. 17, 2007, and will serve as Managing Partner of the new office.

"Ann Arbor is fast becoming the center of emerging high-technology and other industries.  Honigman's corporate, private equity and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, tax, intellectual property, litigation and other business-related services uniquely position us to grow with the Ann Arbor economy," said Alan S. Schwartz, CEO of Honigman.

"In addition, we are very pleased to welcome David Parsigian to Honigman," added Schwartz.  "David's wealth of experience in corporate and securities law as well as his extensive background in private equity and venture capital make him a strong addition to Honigman's team of skilled business lawyers.  His active participation in the Ann Arbor community makes him the perfect leader to establish the firm's new office there."

Honigman's Private Equity and Venture Capital Practice Group represents private equity funds and investors in a wide variety of transactions throughout the United States including tax structuring, complex negotiations, financing and the execution of acquisitions and investments.  Private equity and venture capital are major strategic growth areas for the firm and Parsigian's experience representing emerging technology companies will be key in growing this practice.

"I am eager to begin work at such an outstanding firm as Honigman," said Parsigian.  "I'm excited about the opportunity and am looking forward to further establishing Honigman as the preeminent business law firm for the Ann Arbor region."

Most recently, Parsigian served as a senior partner in the Corporate and Securities Department of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C.'s Ann Arbor office, where he led the firm's High-Technology Ventures Group.  An honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, Parsigian was recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the Corporate Law Section of the 2007 edition of that publication and by Chambers USA America's Leading Lawyers for 2006, as a top lawyer in the Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions field in Michigan.  In 2006, Parsigian was the Chairman of the Board of the Ann Arbor Area Chamber of Commerce.  He currently serves on the executive committee of Ann Arbor SPARK, the economic development organization focused on establishing the Ann Arbor region as a destination for business expansion, retention and relocation.  Parsigian has also lectured on private equity and venture capital finance at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and the Wayne State University Business School.
