Honigman Welcomes Government Contracts Attorney Adam Bartolanzo to Washington DC Office

Press Release

Chicago – Honigman LLP announced today that Adam Bartolanzo joined the firm as a partner in the Regulated Industries Practice Group of the Regulatory Department. He comes to Honigman’s Washington DC office from Miles & Stockbridge.

Bartolanzo advises government contractors on the full range of federal procurement matters, helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements, contract performance issues, compliance obligations, disputes, and strategic business decisions. He works with companies across a variety of industries that do business with the federal government, providing practical counsel throughout the government contracting lifecycle. While his practice spans all aspects of government contracts law, he has particular experience in cybersecurity, intellectual property and data rights, and small business contracting programs.

“Adam brings deep experience in government contracts, with a particular focus on Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. His understanding of this evolving area will enhance the counsel we provide to clients in the nation’s capital and across the country,” said Andrea Hansen, chair of Honigman’s Regulatory Department. “Combined with his experience advising on complex supply chain and mobility industry matters, he will further strengthen our capabilities in areas that are important to the firm’s strategic growth. His entrepreneurial mindset and client-first approach position him to make a meaningful contribution to the firm’s continued success.”

Within his broader government contracts practice, Bartolanzo has significant experience advising on the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program and other evolving federal cybersecurity requirements. He helps clients safeguard covered information, address cyber incident reporting obligations, and develop and implement compliance strategies. Bartolanzo also counsels on intellectual property and data rights issues arising in government contracts, including software licensing, technical data, and proprietary information. In addition, he advises clients participating in the Small Business Administration’s socioeconomic contracting programs, with a focus on the 8(a) Business Development, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and HUBZone programs.

“Adam’s skillset will be of immense value as we guide clients throughout the government contracting lifecycle,” said Chauncey C. Mayfield II, leader of Honigman’s Commercial Transactions Practice Group and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “His proven track record of navigating increasingly complex regulatory and compliance requirements will further strengthen our ability to help clients mitigate risk, deliver strategic counsel, and achieve their business objectives with our help.”

Bartolanzo earned his J.D. with honors from George Washington University Law School  and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.
