Real Estate Attorney Kasturi Bagchi Returns to Honigman

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI - Honigman LLP announced today that Kasturi “Kas” Bagchi has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Transactional and Real Estate Finance Practice Group of its Real Estate Department. Kasturi returns to Honigman after nearly five years with Miller Canfield, where she was a principal.

“In her previous eight-year tenure with Honigman, Kas was an integral member of our practice, and we are pleased to welcome her back,” said Lowell D. Salesin, co-chair of Honigman’s Real Estate Department and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. “She is strategic in the way she counsels clients and is adept in foreseeing potential issues, quickly resolving them so transactions can close smoothly. We are happy to welcome her skillset to our talented cohort once again.”

Bagchi manages risks for clients in loan, real estate, and other asset-based transactions. She also counsels lenders on mortgage loans, note purchases, and note financings designed to help distressed borrowers avoid foreclosure. She has successfully closed over $600 million in Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and Freddie Mac loans on behalf of borrowers.

Bagchi earned her J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and her B.A., also cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
