Melissa Malerman joins Honigman’s Government Relations and Regulatory Practice in Lansing
Honigman LLP is pleased to announce Melissa Malerman has joined its Government Relations and Regulatory Practice as a senior attorney in the firm’s Lansing office. Malerman will focus her practice on election law, campaign finance, and administrative law. She will assist clients in need of expert advice in matters involving federal, state and municipal elections, campaign financing, lobbying, and government affairs.

Malerman formerly served as Director of the Filings, Disclosure and Compliance Division at the Michigan Secretary of State's Bureau of Elections, leading the Disclosure Data Division, which administers the Michigan Campaign Finance Act, Lobby Law, enforces ballot access requirements for federal and state-level candidates and ballot proposals, and manages election result reporting pursuant to Michigan election law. Ms. Malerman also served as an advisor to the Board of State Canvassers, and previously was Deputy Majority Counsel with the Michigan House of Representatives.
She earned her JD from the Michigan State University College of Law.
