Honigman Named Captive Tax Specialist of the Year

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP won the “Captive Tax Specialist” award category at the U.S. Captive Review Awards 2017.

The judges’ comments stated that Honigman is “steeped in captive experience.” The judges also commented that they “were impressed by Honigman’s book of business and the range of domiciles it works in, both on- and offshore.”

Honigman represents more than 200 active insurance programs and is experienced in the leading domiciles, including Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Vermont and South Carolina. In addition to tax strategies, Honigman’s Insurance practice provides a diverse array of services including feasibility, structure, governance and operations.

The judges further noted that Honigman’s “dedicated captive practice proves its commitment to the sector and is able to deliver guidance on a range of state, federal and international issues.”

Honigman’s Insurance practice is led by Julie E. Robertson and includes two tax attorneys, Michael W. Domanski and Ryan Peruski, both of whom focus their practices on complex insurance company taxation and international transaction issues.
