Honigman Continues to Grow Grand Rapids Office with Addition of Litigation Partner

Press Release

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP announced today that Mark S. Pendery has joined the firm as a partner in its Grand Rapids office. He joins the firm’s White Collar Crime and Investigations practice, as well as the State and Local Tax (SALT) and Tax practices.

“Mark’s addition to Honigman is the latest example of our commitment to the growing Grand Rapids office,” said Tracy T. Larsen, co-chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice and managing partner of Honigman’s Grand Rapids office. “He is a highly regarded litigator in Michigan, and will be an asset to our clients.”

Pendery focuses his practice on litigating white collar crime matters, as well as complex business and tax matters. He represents clients before federal and state courts, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and various local tax agencies. In addition to his tax work, Pendery provides skilled and experienced representation in matters relating to investigations, criminal prosecutions and complex civil litigation matters in federal and state courts throughout the country.

This announcement comes on the heels of Brett Krueger’s recent relocation to the Grand Rapids office as part of the firm’s growth in Western Michigan. Krueger is a partner in Honigman’s Intellectual Property practice. The office, which opened its doors in January 2017, is led by Larsen, who is one of the leading M&A transaction attorneys based in Michigan.

Before joining Honigman, Pendery was a partner at Miller Johnson. He also spent more than 14 years with the IRS, including in the Chief Counsel’s Office in Washington, DC, and district offices in Phoenix and Michigan.

Pendery earned a J.D. from Indiana University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati.
