Alert
  • U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”) published a final rule increasing filing fees for most employment-based petitions, including H-1B and L petitions, I-140 petitions and I-485 applications. These fees will become effective for petitions postmarked on or after April 1, 2024. Note, the H-1B registration fee will remain $10 for FY 2025 H-1B registrations filed in March 2024. More information about the rule, including a chart comparing current fees to new fees, can be found here.

  • USCIS also announced the FY 2025 H-1B cap lottery registration dates – March 6, 2024 to March 22, 2024 – and published a final rule outlining changes to how it will conduct the H-1B cap lottery to avoid fraud and eliminate any benefits received from duplicate registrations. The final rule will become effective on March 3, 2024, prior to the H-1B registration period. More information about the H-1B cap lottery changes can be found here.
