Overview

Rob Humphries is an experienced corporate and transactional lawyer and recognized as a leading lawyer in the Cayman Islands insurance and captive insurance industry. He handles a broad range of insurance and reinsurance work including mergers and acquisitions, complicated captive and group captive structuring and formation, and the establishment of open market reinsurance structures. He represents captive insurance companies and their owners in a variety of corporate, governance, operational and regulatory matters.

Rob also has a wealth of experience in general corporate and commercial work including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and general commercial transactions within the insurance, investment funds and broader financial services industry where he is able to draw on his considerable onshore and offshore experience.

Rob is widely published and regularly presents at industry events and conferences. He has served on numerous insurance industry bodies and committees including the Insurance Managers Association (IMAC) Legal and Regulatory Committee and the Cayman Islands Reinsurance Companies Association (CIRCA).
