Overview

Carol Paszkiewicz is a Senior Investigator in Honigman’s Investigations and White-Collar Defense Practice Group. She draws on more than two decades of federal law enforcement experience leading complex environmental, healthcare, public corruption, and other white-collar investigations to help clients navigate matters involving government scrutiny and internal risk.

Before joining Honigman, Carol served in key leadership positions in federal law enforcement, including as Resident Agent in Charge of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Criminal Investigation Division in Detroit and as a Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General. She played a pivotal role in several high-profile investigations, including the prosecution of Detroit public officials in one of the city’s largest public corruption cases, and led investigations into major environmental disasters ranging from oil spills to hazardous facility explosions. She also spent several years investigating a variety of health care fraud investigations including violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act and the Controlled Substance Act. Since retirement, Carol has focused on helping clients respond to government facing investigations, conducting internal investigations and audits, and assisting in the creation of compliance programs and strategies.

At Honigman, Carol partners closely with attorneys to provide clients a 360-degree approach to investigations and compliance. She advises on both internal and government-facing investigations across a variety of industries including healthcare, environmental, higher education, and municipalities. Leveraging her background as a federal investigator, Carol brings insight into investigative strategy, witness interviews, and risk assessment, helping clients not only respond to enforcement actions but also anticipate and prevent them.
