As Director of Client Value and Commercial Strategy, Bill Josten is focused on client needs, aligning the firm’s legal services with evolving client business objectives. Bill leverages deep market and commercial expertise to partner with firm leaders in developing client-focused, competitive service strategies. Working closely with attorneys and client teams, he clarifies the business case for legal solutions and supports tailored engagement plans aimed at measurable client outcomes.
Formerly a practicing attorney with nearly 20 years in the industry, Bill is a globally acclaimed advisor on the legal market. Before joining Honigman, he spent over a decade at Thomson Reuters in a variety of roles, most recently as the Senior Manager of Enterprise Legal Thought Leadership for the Thomson Reuters Institute. In that role, he published more than 100 reports on the global legal market and consulted with law firms around the world on issues and opportunities for law firm profitability, pricing, cost recovery, and business growth strategy.
Prior to joining the Institute, Bill worked across Thomson Reuters in a variety of roles related to the business and practice of law. He is a former adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis and a former law clerk at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
