Honigman Partner S. Lee Johnson elected secretary/treasurer of State Bar of Michigan’s Environmental Law Section

S. Lee Johnson, a partner in Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP’s environmental practice group, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan for 2012-2013. This section provides education, information and analysis about issues of concern through meetings, seminars, its website, public service programs and publication of the Michigan Environmental Law Journal.

Johnson counsels large and small manufacturers, real estate developers, mining firms and utilities regarding environmental regulation with particular emphasis on air pollution regulation, and the environmental aspects of commercial transactions. He also represents businesses and individuals in administrative disputes with state and federal environmental regulatory agencies.

He is also past chair of the Environmental Law Section’s Air Committee, a member of the American Bar Association’s Environment, Energy and Resources Section and past chair of the Air and Waste Management Association’s East Michigan Chapter.

Johnson earned a J.D from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. in communication and philosophy from Michigan State University.
