Intellectual Property Litigator Brian Brookey Joins Honigman

Press Release

WASHINGTON – Honigman LLP announced today that Brian Brookey is joining the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Practice Group of the IP Department in its Washington, D.C. office. Brookey, who joins Honigman from Tucker Ellis, is the third partner to join the firm’s D.C. office this year.

Brookey focuses his practice on IP litigation, regularly representing clients in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters. An acclaimed mediator in IP disputes, Brookey has handled cases in nearly two dozen states. He has represented clients in U.S. Courts of Appeals across the country, before the International Trade Commission, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

“Brian is a valuable addition to the deep and growing bench of talent we’re building on our team in this market,” said Jonathan O’Brien, chair of Honigman’s Intellectual Property Department. “His depth of experience in D.C., as well as his admission to the California Bar and extensive knowledge of that region, will sharpen our practice, ultimately enriching the knowledge and advocacy we offer our clients.”

Over his three-decade career, Brian’s client roster has spanned a wide range of industries nationally and globally, including apparel, architectural designs, automotive, computer software, construction, consumer products, electronics, lasers and lighting, medical devices, musical devices, nutritional supplements, photography, telecommunications, transportation services, and more.

Brookey earned his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University.
