Intellectual property litigator joins Honigman
Brian J. Arnold, who has more than 10 years of experience in intellectual property, joins Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP in its Chicago office. He joins the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group as a partner. Honigman, a full-service business law firm, now has more than 300 legal professionals in the Midwest and a growing national client base served by prominent practices in intellectual property, private equity, corporate and securities, real estate, and litigation, among others.
Arnold’s practice focus is patent litigation, but he has also litigated copyright, trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, trade secret and contract law issues. He has litigated in many federal courts and numerous times at the International Trade Commission. His technology focus includes software, computer memory, microprocessors, smartphone and tablet devices, cellular networking, automotive technologies, mechanical devices, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and stem cell technology. Arnold comes to Honigman from the Chicago office of K&L Gates LLP.
Arnold is admitted to the bar in Illinois. He earned a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law and was an associate editor of its Journal of Intellectual Property. Arnold is a member of the Order of the Coif. He received a B.S. in computer science from the University of Michigan – Flint. Before entering law school, he worked for eight years in the software development field.
Arnold is among 20 laterals who have joined Honigman from other major law firms during the past 18 months as the firm continues its aggressive growth strategy.
