Honigman Welcomes Intellectual Property Partner in New Washington D.C. Office

Honigman LLP announces that veteran intellectual property strategist Harold Fox, Ph.D., is joining the firm as managing partner of the firm’s new Washington, D.C. office. Fox specializes in tactical intellectual property counseling and strategic patent advice in multiple disciplines. Internationally recognized, he advises clients in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, physics, chemical engineering, and medical devices.  

“Harold is a leading force in intellectual property law in the D.C. area,” said David Foltyn, Chair and CEO of Honigman. “We are excited to grow our Honigman practice via additional strategic hires in this region with dedicated and internationally-recognized attorneys such as Harold.” 

Fox has extensive experience representing clients at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in post grant proceedings, as well as the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His patent and trademark work has been noticed worldwide with several mentions in IAM Patent 1000, Legal 500, Chambers USA, and his distinction as a “top 50 under 45” in IP Law and Business. His dedication to the clients he serves has helped him build a successful strategic patent practice. 

Fox joins Honigman from Steptoe & Johnson LLP, having devoted more than 15 years to the firm’s technology, internet and media practice, and heading their Intellectual Property Group for many years. Most recently, he led their U.S. Patent and Trademark Office practice. Fox earned his J.D. from Boston University and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from MIT.
