Meredith Ervine Promoted to Practice Co-Leader
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP announced today that partner Meredith Ervine has been named co-leader of the Securities and Corporate Governance practice group. She joins Michael S. Ben to lead the practice that counsels and advises large and small public companies, and emerging companies looking to go public.
Over the course of her career, Ervine has worked on more than 65 securities offerings involving more than $11.3 billion. Ervine counsels public company clients regarding compliance with the securities laws and rules of exchanges, governance best practices and transactional and general corporate matters.
“This is highly specialized work and Meredith stands out from the crowd in west Michigan with her level of experience,” said Tracy T. Larsen, Honigman’s Grand Rapids office managing partner. Ervine practices out of the Grand Rapids office but also spends time in the firm’s Kalamazoo office.
A Grand Rapids native, Ervine spent more than six years at a Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in New York City before being recruited back to Michigan.
“When I heard Honigman needed a securities attorney in west Michigan, I realized I could have the best of both worlds,” said Ervine. “I have the same caliber of work I did in New York City, but I’m back home near family.”
Ervine attended law school on Long Island, New York, where she earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. She earned her B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan. She is admitted to practice law in both Michigan and New York.
Earlier this year, Ervine was elected to the board of the Grand Rapids Ballet, and serves as a member of the Development Committee.
