POSITION SUMMARY

Honigman’s Securities and Corporate Governance Practice Group is comprised of a diverse group of attorneys who are committed to diversity as a fundamental part of this practice and its continued success. This group is seeking to hire attorneys with at least four years of experience representing public company issuers on a full spectrum of matters, including advising on SEC filings, Board/Committee functions, corporate governance, securities offerings and general outside general counsel matters.  The public company group’s leanly structured client teams offer attorneys the opportunity to assume significant responsibility and allows for a high level of partner and client contact.  

Candidates with the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Significant experience advising issuers;
  • Strong and detailed understanding of the federal securities laws and national securities exchange regulations, as well as key principles of public company Boards, governance and executive/director compensation;
  • Familiarity with disclosure considerations for a variety of market capitalizations and SEC/national securities exchange classifications;
  • Experience with multiple industry sectors; and
  • Prior experience working in a national practice from large international/national law firms or strong regional law firms.

HIGH-LEVEL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high quality work-product and effectively communicate at all levels of the Firm;
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and high energy and enthusiasm for general corporate counseling, ranging from ordinary course public company activities to significant transactional matters;
  • Exhibit highly responsive, creative and efficient work habits;
  • Strive to continuously improve knowledge, skills and abilities and seek guidance and feedback to improve performance and productivity;
  • Take responsibility for enhancing expertise, in addition to seeking out formal and informal training;
  • Integrate into the practice and build strong relationships with clients and within Honigman; and
  • Demonstrate a long-term interest in networking with existing clients and developing business opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least four years of requisite experience;
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited institution;
  • Licensed Illinois, Michigan or Washington, DC attorney in good standing; candidates outside the firm’s geographic footprint who are open to relocation are also encouraged to apply;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under significant time constraints; and
  • Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills required.
