Overview
Shannon Duggan is a litigator and former federal law clerk who concentrates her practice on private equity litigation, class action defense, government and internal investigations, and other high-stakes commercial litigation matters. She advises clients through all stages of litigation, from pre-suit counseling to appeals.
Shannon also has a robust civil and criminal pro bono practice, including representing nonprofit organizations in cases involving significant child welfare issues before the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.

- Obtained summary judgment for real estate investment firm in federal court dispute arising from breach of representations and warranties in real estate purchase agreement
- Represented private equity client in complex multi-party litigation alleging breaches of representations and warranties and fraud in connection with sale of portfolio company and breach of contract by representations and warranties insurer
- Obtained favorable settlement for founders of agribusiness related to federal and state court claims of securities fraud, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract
- Conducted internal investigation for public university regarding allegations of faculty and staff misconduct and sexual harassment related to an external public relations firm
- Obtained favorable settlement for defendant in federal court putative class action after securing near-complete judgment on the pleadings on SMLA, RESPA, TILA, and unjust enrichment claims
- Regularly advise private equity firms and their portfolio companies in post-closing disputes seeking indemnification or damages related to breach of contract and fraud
- Serve as University-provided advisor in Title IX hearings at the University of Michigan
