Overview

Honigman’s Leasing practice group, as part of our nationally recognized top-tier Real Estate department, supports a national client base of landlords and tenants in retail, office, industrial, warehouse, and other commercial properties throughout the country. Our leasing attorneys provide a valuable skill set to complement that of our other Real Estate practice groups, particularly Retail, Multifamily and Manufactured Housing, and Industrial and Office. We have marked familiarity and experience with the real estate market nationally and regionally and remain knowledgeable about trends and new developments that impact the businesses of our clients, who range from nationally known developers, property owners, and companies to regional developers and investors.

We draft and negotiate commercial leases related to mixed-use projects, gaming facilities, multifamily and single-family residential developments, office and industrial facilities, health care facilities and retail projects. By utilizing our deep knowledge of nearly all facets of leasing and relevant relationships, we are able to creatively represent the interests of our clients. 

We are actively involved nationally and regionally with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and other professional associations in specific market segments. We are frequent lecturers at these professional associations and continuing education forums for industry executives.

Representative Matters

  • Administered lease in the redevelopment of Evergreen Plaza in Evergreen Park, Illinois
  • Administered leases at the contemplated Addison Park development in Chicago
  • Represented BlackEagle Partners, LLC in the lease of five properties located in Illinois since March 2010
  • Administered retail leases at the New City development in Chicago
