Our lawyers handle a broad range of environmental matters for automotive and manufacturing clients. We possess extensive experience in environmental permitting and compliance matters before local authorities, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and environmental agencies of other states, the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Army Corps of Engineers. We are experienced in air and water quality compliance, brownfield redevelopment, defense of criminal enforcement efforts, advising on environmental issues involved in the purchase and sale of real estate assets, manufacturing facility selection and siting, hazardous waste matters, licensing and permitting, remediation of contaminated sites, solid waste disposal, handling of toxic substances, and the defense and prosecution of environmental litigation.

We counsel major automotive manufacturers and numerous automotive suppliers in finding creative solutions to minimize environmental risks in acquisitions and divestitures. Environmental aspects handled include retention and supervision of consultants to perform environmental due diligence, negotiation of environmental terms of transaction agreements and insurance policies.
