Chambers USA 2009 ranks Honigman no. 1 in three practice areas Honigman garners high marks in all six practice areas ranked by Chambers

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) is pleased to announce that the respected legal research publication Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2009 (Chambers) has awarded a No. 1 ranking within the state of Michigan to the firm in three of the publication’s six ranked key practice areas: Corporate/Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Litigation: General Commercial and Real Estate. In addition, Honigman's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, Banking and Finance, and Labor and Employment practices were recognized as among the top three in the state, giving the firm high marks in all six areas ranked by Chambers.

Honigman was the only Michigan law firm receiving the No. 1 ranking for its Corporate/M&A and Real Estate practices. Regarding Honigman’s Corporate/M&A practice, Chambers states, “Unanimously considered ‘the yardstick by which other corporate practices are measured’ in Michigan, this team is “extremely strong, lawyer for lawyer.’ Undertaking work on behalf of businesses both large and small, regionally and nationally this sizable group is unparalleled in handling major transactions . . .” With regard to the firm’s Real Estate practice Chambers writes, “This ‘superb real estate practice’ is renowned for its roster of regional and national commercial and entrepreneurial players. The firm’s Litigation: General Commercial practice ranked No. 1 along with two other Michigan firms. “Winning immense respect as ‘a prominent group of distinguished trial lawyers,’ this large litigation practice handles the full gamut of the bet-the-company cases,” states Chambers.
