Honigman’s Stanley H. Pitts appointed to State Bar of Michigan Professional Ethics Committee

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce that Stanley H. Pitts, a Partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Department, has been appointed to the State Bar of Michigan Professional Ethics Committee for a term that continues through September 30, 2012.

Pitts is an experienced litigator whose practice primarily includes defending employers confronted with federal and state agency charges of unlawful employment discrimination, employee litigation involving federal and state anti-discrimination laws, whistleblower claims, family and medical leave act claims and other employment related claims. He also provides counseling to employers on various issues and topics including disability-related inquiries, disability and religious accommodation, waivers and releases, reduction-in-force and severance agreements. Pitts’ clients include national and regional employers.

In addition to his position on the Professional Ethics Committee, Pitts serves the State Bar as a member of a hearing panel for the Attorney Disciplinary Board and as a member of the Labor and Employment section.

Pitts earned a J.D. from the Wayne State University Law School and a B.S. in accounting from Wayne State University.
