I.W. Winsten receives the 2007 Pro Bono Service Award from the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association

I. W. Winsten (Bill), partner with the law firm of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP, received the 2007 Pro Bono Service Award on May 22, from the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association at its 171st President's Awards Banquet.  Bill was recognized as the Association's pro bono attorney of the year for his commitment to assisting members of the community with pro bono legal representation, including his tireless efforts in establishing the Detroit Legal Services Clinic and in assisting its growth over the years.  The Clinic has served over 3,000 pro bono clients since Winsten helped found it.  

Bill is a partner in the Litigation Department of Honigman's Detroit office.  He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and as a Michigan Superlawyer , and is often asked to teach trial skills to other attorneys.  

Bill received his J.D. magna cum laude from Wayne State University Law School in 1979, and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2004.  His undergraduate degree was a B.A., with distinction, from Wayne State University in 1976.  He resides in Ann Arbor, Mich.
