Honigman's Carl Herstein elected chair of University Musical Society's Board of Directors

Honigman is proud to announce that Carl Herstein, partner in the Real Estate Department, has been elected Chair of the University Musical Society's Board of Directors for a one year term.  

The University Musical Society, now celebrating its 129th season, is a performing arts presenter renowned for bringing together a diverse array of musicians from all over the world.  Herstein has served as Vice Chair of the UMS Board since 2005 and has served on and chaired various UMS committees since 2003.  

Herstein earned his bachelor of arts degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, with High Distinction and Highest Honors, and subsequently earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School.  He has extensive experience in equine law, real estate finance, and tax appeals, and has published the leading article on usury law in the state.  Herstein currently resides in Ann Arbor, Mich.
