Honigman Establishes Scholarship with University of Michigan Law School

November 27, 2007

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jack Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Michigan Law School.  The Fund will provide a scholarship to an incoming first year law student in memory of Jack Miller, a founding partner of Honigman in 1948 and a 1935 honors graduate of the University of Michigan Law School.

The Fund's purpose is to assist in building a diverse student population at the Law School. The Fund will target financially challenged students from Detroit, where Honigman was founded and headquartered, and the city where Jack Miller was raised.

During his career with the firm, Miller served as a business lawyer and headed a prestigious matrimonial practice where he represented many of Detroit's social elite.  He advised business clients in corporate transactions, combinations and acquisitions and represented their interests in negotiations and trial.

"We are so proud to be able to celebrate Jack Miller's amazing life and accomplishments with this gift," said Alan S. Schwartz, CEO of Honigman. "This will ensure that Jack's legacy of caring, kindness, and generosity will live on forever."
