Press Release

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) is pleased to announce that Cyril Moscow has been named Best Lawyers’ “Detroit Corporate Lawyer of the Year” for 2009. Moscow is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Department, concentrating his practice on advising business clients and other attorneys in corporate and securities matters.

Best Lawyers compiles its lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The lawyers being honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received particularly high ratings in its surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism and integrity. This is the first time the publication is honoring “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities.

“We would like to congratulate Cyril Moscow on being selected as the Best Lawyers’ ‘Detroit Corporate Lawyer of the Year’ for 2009,” said Steven Naifeh, Managing Editor of Best Lawyers. “We continue to believe – as we have believed for more than 25 years – that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession.”

Throughout his career, Moscow has received many accolades for his outstanding practice of law and law related activities, including recognition by Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as a “Senior Statesman” in Corporate/M&A (2005-2008), Michigan Super Lawyers (2006-2008) and among the top 100 in 2006 and 2007, and The Best Lawyers in America as Top Practitioner in both Corporate and Banking Law (1983-2009). In addition, he is listed in Who's Who Legal: The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, 2008.

Moscow has been associated with the firm since 1960 and has served as an Adjunct Professor in Law at the University of Michigan Law School since 1973.
