Ann T. Hollenbeck co-chairs the legal conference for the American Health Lawyers Association
For the fifth consecutive year, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP partner Ann T. Hollenbeck co-chaired the American Health Lawyers Association Program Committee for its annual Legal Issues Affecting Academic Medical Centers and Other Teaching Institutions seminar. Although the organization’s membership is primarily lawyers, the AHLA seminar attracts academic medical center leaders and compliance officers each year due to the ever-changing scope of laws and related regulations governing academic medical centers and teaching institutions.
At the conference, Hollenbeck served as a presenter in the session Clinical Research Update – How Will New Developments Impact your Institution? The session included information regarding the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues Report and the recent NIH draft policy governing institutional review boards.
Hollenbeck, co-leader of Honigman’s Health Care Practice Group, advises hospitals, physicians and other providers on the implications of health care reform, human subjects research matters, and fraud and abuse. She advises clients on academic, medical center and health system structures and arrangements, as well as clinical affiliations and physician compensation. Hollenbeck also represents clients in transactional matters such as creating ancillary services arrangements, negotiating joint ventures and developing physician-hospital relationships.
Hollenbeck has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer since 2009, by DBusiness as a Top Lawyer since 2010 and by The Best Lawyers in America since 2012. She was honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as one of 25 Women in the Law for 2013.
Hollenbeck earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and a B.S., cum laude, in accounting from Butler University.
