Honigman’s Andrea L. Hansen selected as one of Michigan Lawyer Weekly’s “Women in the Law”

Andrea HansenHonigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce that Andrea L. Hansen, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, has been named one of 30 “Women in the Law” for 2014 by Michigan Lawyers Weekly. An editorial panel selected the honorees based on their commitment to excellence in the practice of law, accomplishments as a leader in the profession, service as a mentor to other women and involvement in the community, including pro bono activities. Hansen will be honored at a special luncheon on September 11 at the Detroit Marriott Hotel in Troy and will be highlighted in a September 15 special section of Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Hansen, leader of the firm’s Governmental Law Practice and co-leader of its Gaming and Hospitality Industry Group, is a litigation attorney with a particular focus on gaming, election and appellate law. She represents and counsels casinos and suppliers to casinos regarding gaming regulatory, licensing and compliance issues; candidates and companies with respect to campaign finance and election law issues, including recalls and recounts; preparation and challenges to ballot initiatives; and serves as appellate counsel in state and federal courts on commercial, gaming, election, divorce, employment and other complex matters. Hansen has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers since 2013.

She earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
