10 attorneys join Honigman in its Detroit, Bloomfield Hills and Kalamazoo offices

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce that 10 new attorneys have joined Honigman. All were Summer Associates in 2013 with the exception of Paul VanderVelde. They are all anticipating admission to the State Bar of Michigan.

Elizabeth Allen joins Honigman’s Real Estate Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Washington University Law School in St. Louis and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Allen received a B.A. in English and art history from Rutgers University.

David Axelson joins Honigman’s Corporate Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. He earned a J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. in English from the University of Michigan.

Andrew W. Clark joins Honigman’s Litigation Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. He earned a J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A., cum laude, in political science from the University of Notre Dame.

Nola Garcia joins Honigman’s Corporate Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, in political science and Spanish from Saginaw Valley State University. Garcia was a summer associate in 2012 and 2013.

Elizabeth Gotham joins Honigman’s Labor and Employment Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. She earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Gotham received a B.A. in international relations from the James Madison College at Michigan State University,

Maryam H. Karnib joins Honigman’s Real Estate Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. She earned a J.D from the Wayne State University Law School and a B.A., summa cum laude, in mathematics from Wayne State University.

Erik Lange joins Honigman’s Intellectual Property Department and will be located in the firm’s Bloomfield Hills office. He earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve School of Law and is a member of the Order of the Coif. Lange also holds an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Toledo and a B.S. in civil engineering from Ohio Northern University. Before attending law school, Erik worked as a project engineer for Jones & Henry Engineers in Toledo.

Andrew M. Pauwels joins Honigman’s Litigation Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. He earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. in American studies from the University of Notre Dame.

Jeremy M. Scherlinck joins Honigman’s Corporate Department and will be located in the firm’s Detroit office. Jeremy earned a J.D from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in liberal arts from West Liberty University in West Virginia.

Paul VanderVelde joins Honigman’s Intellectual Property Department and will be located in the firm’s Kalamazoo office. He earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.S. in Chemistry from Hope College.
