Lawrence D. McLaughlin elected member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL)
As published in, The Detroit Legal News, Monday, July 16, 2001 Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP also announced that Lawrence D. McLaughlin, chair of the Real Estate Department in Detroit, was elected member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). ACREL, organized in 1978, provides a useful source of information concerning real property law matters and of ideas and emerging concepts based on practical experience as well as research. McLauglin was elected based on his established expertise in real estate law, adherence to high standards of professional and ethical conduct, substantial contributions to improvement of real estate law and practice and at least 10 years of experience in real estate law. Membership is by invitation only. Currently, ACREL has approximately 850 members nation-wide. McLaughlin joined Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn in 1977. He earned his law degree from Wayne State University in 1977 and a B.M.E. from General Motors Institute in 1974.
