Honigman Miller Schwartz and Schwartz and Cohn LLP Attorney Honored by Community Legal Resources; Firm Also Recognized
November 18, 2004Cameron J. Evans, a partner in the Labor and Employment department of Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn LLP, has been named "Volunteer of the Year" for 2004 by Community Legal Resources. Evans was recognized at a reception held November 16, where he was awarded the Steven H. Tobocman Award for Outstanding Volunteerism. At the same reception, the Honigman firm was acknowledged for its participation in Community Legal Resources' community land trust project. Evans, a Community Legal Resources volunteer since 2002, earned the recognition for his pro bono work with several non-profit entities. He provides counsel to organizations on various employment issues and successfully defended the Joint Operational Services for a Human Urban Alliance ("JOSHUA") in a "whistleblower" case in Washtenaw County Circuit Court. "Cam Evans exemplifies the best of what our volunteer lawyers do for the community," said Angela Zemboy, Executive Director of Community Legal Resources. "His generosity with five separate nonprofit agencies over the past two years has made a tremendous difference in the low-income communities they serve. We are also pleased to recognize the participation of Honigman Miller, whose volunteer and financial support has been key to the success of Community Legal Resources and the hundreds of nonprofit organizations we serve."
