Honigman Adds to Government Relations Practice

Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Douglas E. Mains as an associate in the Government Relations and Regulatory practice group in the firm's Lansing Office.

Mains represents clients on a wide array of government relations matters involving Michigan's executive, legislative and judicial branches.  Well-versed in the complex legal and political issues surrounding the emerging medical marijuana practice, he also advices clients on legislation and ballot initiatives regarding issues such as education, insurance and tax policy.

After serving as Deputy Legal Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor in the Michigan House of Representatives, he is experienced in navigating the multidimensional relationships among various state and local government entities and the public sector.

Mains earned his LL.M., summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law.  He received his B.A. in Government from Cornell University.
