Angela Sujek, who has more than 15 years of experience as an intellectual property attorney, joins Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP as a partner in the firm’s Trademark and Copyright practice group. Honigman also added attorneys Nicole Kryzhan in November 2015 and Jeffrey M. Koegel in September to this growing practice.

“Our quickly growing practice serves numerous well-known and famous brands, both nationally and internationally,” said Jonathan O’Brien, chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department.  “Angela is a tremendous addition to our seasoned team of trademark and copyright attorneys, whose experience on both the transactional and counseling side will give us even greater depth in that area.”

Sujek counsels clients on their global trademark and copyright strategies, including clearance, registration and maintenance. She also assists clients with the enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights. Sujek represents clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in state and federal courts, as well as in inter partes proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In 2014, she was recognized by DBusiness as a top trademark attorney. Sujek is admitted to practice in Michigan.

She joins Honigman from the Ann Arbor office of Bodman PLC.

Sujek earned a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Honigman is recognized as a top trademark firm in the 2016 World Trademark Review 1000, an international publication that identifies leading law firms and practitioners in the trademark practice.  The publication states that Honigman is a firm that can secure “watertight protection for brand owners in a cost-conscious, streamlined manner.” Honigman Partner Anessa Kramer was recognized as one of two “Gold Band” attorneys in Michigan. Along with this top ranking, the publication acknowledges her “adroit portfolio management and her flair at recovering web addresses for beleaguered brand owners in domain name arbitration.”
