Honigman's M&A practice earns high marks from ‘Legal 500’

Press Release

Detroit-based business law firm Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP (Honigman) received a top tier ranking for its Mergers and Acquisitions practice group in the Legal 500 United States 2008 (Legal 500). The honor was in the Mergers, Acquisitions and Buyouts subcategory of Midwestern regional firms. Honigman was the only Michigan law firm in the top tier.

The editors of the Legal 500 said of Honigman’s M&A attorneys, “(The M&A group) is well known for its recent work in entertainment and gaming, as well as its experience in representing Native American tribes. The depth of the firm allows the M&A group to act for traditional private companies alongside financial sponsors, as well as large publicly held entities.”

Individual Honigman attorneys singled out as coming highly recommended are Alan S. Schwartz, David Foltyn, Donald Kunz, Samuel Stahl, Joshua Opperer and Michael DuBay. The editors also mentioned recently appointed partners Barbara Kaye and Ronald Whitney as examples of the firm’s expanding M&A group.

The Legal 500, published in the United Kingdom, is a referral guide for buyers of commercial law firm services in the United States. The M&A firms are ranked according to their deal capabilities, deal volume, market sentiment, resources that the firm is able to deploy and the depth of the M&A team.
