Rodney C. Ploucha is a seasoned real estate attorney and equity partner at Honigman LLP, where he plays a pivotal role in one of Michigan’s top-ranked real estate practices. With over a decade of transactional experience, Rodney brings a business-minded approach to legal counsel, shaped by his early career as a business consultant with IBM and honed through years of advising developers, lenders, and family offices across the country.

Rodney’s practice focuses on complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing of multifamily, office, retail, and industrial properties. In 2020 alone, he led transactions exceeding $360 million, representing both HUD lenders and multifamily borrowers in high-stakes financings and originations. His clients include full-service real estate companies, private developers of luxury multifamily communities, and generational family offices.

Known for his strategic insight and meticulous execution, Rodney drafts and negotiates purchase agreements, leases, and property management contracts, while also managing teams of junior attorneys and paralegals. His ability to align legal strategy with business objectives makes him a trusted advisor to clients navigating the evolving real estate landscape.

Rodney holds a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and served as Senior Editor of the Wayne Law Review. He earned his B.A. in Economics with Distinction from the University of Michigan.
